Sydney to Paris business class in 2026: your options
There is no nonstop business class flight between Sydney and Paris, and in 2026 the Qantas version got longer. Its Paris flight now starts in Sydney and stops in Singapore, replacing the northbound Perth nonstop, and that arrangement has been extended to 31 January 2027. This page covers what changed, what the Qantas flight looks like, and the other ways to make the trip.

What changed with Qantas and Paris
Qantas started flying Perth to Paris nonstop in July 2024, adding to its Perth flights to London and Rome. From the Australian side, that was a one-stop trip on one ticket: a domestic leg to Perth, then a long nonstop to France. In March 2026 Simple Flying reported that Qantas would shelve the northbound Perth to Paris nonstop and fly to Paris from Sydney with a stop in Singapore instead. The same report said Perth to London was being rerouted via Singapore because of tension in the Middle East, and described the Paris change as likely to be temporary.
The Sydney to Singapore to Paris flights started on 20 April 2026, were extended to 24 October, and then extended again to 31 January 2027. A 2PAXfly report on 22 October 2026 says Qantas's revised schedules keep the Singapore routing for both Paris and Perth to London until 31 January 2027, and that Qantas currently has the Perth to London nonstop returning from 1 February. That report does not give a return date for the northbound Perth to Paris nonstop, and we have not found one. The Paris to Perth return leg still operates as part of QF34.
What the Qantas flight looks like
The Paris flights use the Boeing 787-9, whose business cabin has 42 seats in a 1-2-1 layout. Every passenger has aisle access and the seat folds into a fully flat bed. The 2PAXfly timetable shows the outbound flight, QF255, leaving Sydney on three days a week as at the 22 October schedule (Qantas ran five weekly flights earlier in 2026) and stopping for about two hours in Singapore, with a total journey of about 24 hours 40 minutes. The return, QF34, runs Paris to Perth and on to Sydney, with a stop of about an hour and a half in Perth, so the two directions use different stopovers.
Check the exact days and times on the booking page rather than relying on a blog, because the schedule has been revised more than once and different sources list different departure times. The same report says Qantas's Singapore Business and First lounges have come under strain when the evening Europe departures overlap, so a two-hour stop may not be a relaxed one.
The other ways to get there
| Routing | Airline | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Singapore | Singapore Airlines | Included in its Early Bird sale: Sydney to Paris business was advertised from $9,295 return for 2027 travel. The sale ran until 29 October 2026. |
| Singapore | Qantas | The same hub as above, on a single Qantas ticket. See the schedule notes in this guide. |
| Doha | Qatar Airways | Paris is among the destinations in its Europe early bird sale, which ran until 30 October 2026 for travel from 17 January 2027. Virgin Australia also sells Qatar-operated flights via Doha. |
| Hong Kong | Cathay Pacific | Another routing that avoids the Gulf. Check the fare and the aircraft before you book. |
Two points follow from the table. First, Singapore is where both Qantas and Singapore Airlines route Paris trips, which makes it a natural place to compare. Second, the Gulf routings are an option again: in early October 2026 Smartraveller lowered its advice for the UAE and Qatar to Level 2 (exercise a high degree of caution), though it still warns that airspace can close at short notice. Check the live advice before you book. The cheapest business class from Australia to Europe goes through that trade-off in more detail. How a two-ticket fare fits in
Singapore is also a place to join two tickets. Kaviqa's two-ticket builds typically use an economy flight from Sydney to an Asian hub such as Singapore, plus a separate business ticket on to Paris, and a business first leg is an option if you turn it on. A business seat from Singapore to Paris can price differently from the through-fare. Sometimes the two together may come in under it, and Kaviqa prices them side by side for your dates. Whether that is worth it depends on how you feel about eight hours in a cheaper seat before the overnight leg, which is a real cost.
The trade is the same as on every two-ticket fare. You collect your bags, clear immigration and check in again, and if the first flight is late the second airline owes you nothing. The Qantas stop in Singapore is on one ticket, so the airline protects the connection. A self-transfer at the same airport gives that protection up. What this means for Christmas
The Singapore routing runs across the Christmas and New Year period, so a Qantas Paris trip over the holidays will be the longer version. Sale fares for 2027 start from mid or late January, so they do not apply. We have not found a sourced December business fare range to Paris, so we are not quoting one. Our guide on when to book long-haul business class covers how premium cabins reprice as they fill.

Common questions
- Is there a nonstop flight from Sydney to Paris?
- No. Qantas flies Sydney to Singapore to Paris, and every other business class routing between the two cities also has at least one stop, most commonly in Asia or the Gulf. Qantas's northbound Perth to Paris nonstop was replaced by the Singapore routing in 2026, and the Paris to Perth return leg still operates as part of QF34.
- Is the Qantas Perth to Paris nonstop coming back?
- We have found no announced return date for the northbound nonstop. As at 26 October 2026, Qantas's schedules keep the Singapore routing until 31 January 2027, and Executive Traveller says it could be extended again.
- How long does Sydney to Paris take on Qantas?
- One trade schedule (22 October 2026) lists about 24 hours 40 minutes on the outbound flight, including about two hours in Singapore, and about 22 hours 20 minutes on the return via Perth. Times change with the schedule, so check the booking page.
- Is Qantas business class on this route lie-flat?
- Yes. The Boeing 787-9 has 42 business seats in a 1-2-1 layout, with aisle access for everyone and a fully flat bed. Check your flight's seat map for the exact aircraft.
- Is it cheaper to fly Sydney to Paris on two tickets?
- Sometimes, on some dates, and not always. A business seat from Singapore to Paris can price differently from the through-fare, so the combined price can undercut it. The trade is a longer connection and no protection if the first flight is late.
- Does the Singapore Airlines sale include Sydney to Paris?
- Yes, the Early Bird sale was reported with Sydney to Paris business from $9,295 return for travel in 2027, in a sale that ran until 29 October 2026. Seats are limited, and blackout dates apply.
